The Diamondbacks have agreed to a minor league contract with right-hander Jandel Gustave, tweets Robert Murray of FanSided. He’ll be invited to big league camp this spring.
All other players have been tendered contracts. The nontender deadline passed at 7 PM today, and the Brewers announced all of their moves shortly after the deadline had passed.
Trevor Gott and Jandel Gustave were each reinstated from the 15-day injured list. To create room for those two on the active roster, Peter Strzelecki was optioned to Triple-A Nashville.
Gustave injured his hamstring in a relief appearance on May 14. After a series on the paternity list, Brent Suter is back with the Brewers. He sat out the Brewers series against the Marlins as he was in Milwaukee for the birth of his son.
In 13 innings on the season, Gustave is getting Ks at a 25% clip but has seen his ERA jump up to 5.54.
Gustave’s demotion to Nashville proves to be short lived. The Brewers announced some changes to their bullpen before the start of their series against the Miami Marlins, placing Brent Suter on the paternity list and recalling Jandel Gustave from Triple-A Nashville.

Topa’s season comes to an end as his elbow is reinjured. The rough return to the field for Justin Topa hit another major roadbump. After leaving Friday night’s game against the Cardinals injured, the Brewers evaluated him on Saturday and determined he has a signficant injury to his flexor tendon.
A return to form from Yelich could be the spark Milwaukee needs to cement itself as a World Series contender, although the first order of business is simply to get everyone recovered from the COVID outbreak.
This puts the count of players for the COVID-19 IL at nine. While the outbreak of COVID-19 for the Milwaukee Brewers hasn’t been an explosion, it has turned into a bit of a slow burn.

A minor deal went down today. The Pittsburgh Pirates made a trade today, sending prospects Troy Stokes Jr. and Jandel Gustave, who were both at Indianapolis, to the Milwaukee Brewers for Samuel Escudero, a 17-year-old catcher prospect.
