The Kansas City Royals have signed catcher Jason Kendall to a minor league contract Thursday morning. Kendall has been assigned to the double-A Northwest Arkansas Naturals.
Kendal spent 2010 and 2011 as a member of the Royals, but missed the end of the 2010 season and the entire 2011 season due to a shoulder injury.

Kendall, 38, last played in the Majors in 2010 with the Royals. He hit .256/.318/.297 with 37 RBI's and a 91 OPS+ in 490 plate appearances. He missed the entire 2011 season due to a shoulder injury.
