Noted in passing that Jesse Litsch is on the shelf for at least six weeks after a fluke setback to his recent course of treatment. the nerd in me notes that if the jays needed to manage his return in the most roster friendly way while they waited for a potential major league opening, it wouldn't take much to juggle it so that they don't have to have him in Vegas long enough...

Blue Jays P Litsch to miss 6 weeks
Toronto Blue Jays righthander Jesse Litsch will be sidelined for six weeks following surgery for an infection in his right shoulder.
The injection resulted from an injection given to Litsch by Dr. James Andrews to calm inflammation in his throwing shoulder.
He will not be allowed to do any baseball-related activity or conditioning for two weeks.
Litsch, who will turn 27 next week...

Jesse Litsch Suffers A Setback Requiring Emergency Surgery
As Thom Tsasng reported a few days ago, the Toronto Blue Jays had to shut down Jesse Litsch due to a shoulder injury. The hope was that it would be something minor, and that after some rest Litsch would be back to normal. However, it seems that the Jays right hander was not so lucky. It appears as if the treatment which was supposed to limit the inflammation has led to an infection...

Bad News Piles Up For Blue Jays’ Jesse Litsch
