Veteran right-hander Joel Pineiro, who pitched in Baltimore's organization this season, will have surgery on his right shoulder Tuesday.
Pineiro has a torn labrum and will also be examined for a possible torn rotator cuff.
The 33-year-old is 104-93 with a 4.41 ERA over 12 major league seasons. He has pitched for Seattle, Boston, St. Louis and the Los Angeles Angels.
