The Orioles have reached minor league deals with free agent pitchers Joel Pineiro and Mark Hendrickson. Pineiro is yet another pitcher to sign with
a new organization while working their way back from injury. Both pitchers are
seeking to return to the majors for the first time since 2011.
Pineiro, 34, last pitched for the Los Angeles Angels. After a strong
Veteran right-hander Joel Pineiro, who pitched in Baltimore's organization this season, will have surgery on his right shoulder Tuesday.
Pineiro has a torn labrum and will also be examined for a possible torn rotator cuff.
The 33-year-old is 104-93 with a 4.41 ERA over 12 major league seasons. He has pitched for Seattle, Boston, St. Louis and the Los Angeles Angels.

The Baltimore Orioles have signed veteran right-hander Joel Pineiro to a minor league contract.
Orioles manager Buck Showalter has been operating this season without a designated long reliever, and Pineiro could ultimately fill the void. He is expected to join Triple-A Norfolk this week and be part of the rotation there.
