Angels move Walden out of closer role
Los Angeles Angels manager Mike Scioscia says Jordan Walden has been moved out of the closer role and will be replaced by Scott Downs.
Walden blew a save in Thursday's loss 4-3 to Tampa Bay when he allowed a two-run, game-ending home run to Brandon Allen.
Walden has converted one of two save chances this season. The right-hander is 0-1 with an 8.31 ERA in six appearances.

Walden looks to improve after 'OK' season
Jordan Walden came into spring training trying to improve on a season that wasn't what he wanted it to be.
The Angels closer was 5-5 with a 2.98 ERA and 32 saves in 2011 but he also had 10 blown saves, tied for the major league lead.
