Tigers claim RHP Zeid on waivers from Astros

DETROIT (AP) The Detroit Tigers have claimed right-handed reliever Josh Zeid on waivers from the Houston Astros. The Tigers made the move Thursday. The 27-year-old Zeid was 0-0 with a 6.97 ERA in 23 games for the Astros. He went on the disabled list in late July and needed season-ending surgery on both feet because of a painful condition called bilateral sesamoiditis.
