The Miami Marlins have recalled outfielder Matt Diaz from Triple-A New Orleans and activated infielder Adeiny Hechavarria from the 15-day disabled list.
Nick Green was designated for assignment and left-hander Brad Hand was optioned to New Orleans to make room on the roster. The moves were announced Thursday before the opener of a four-game series at Philadelphia.

Matt Diaz agrees to minor league deal with Marlins
Outfielder Matt Diaz has agreed to a minor league contract with the Miami Marlins following his release by the New York Yankees.
The 35-year-old hit .222 with two homers and 13 RBIs in 51 games with Atlanta last season. He batted .200 (6 for 30) with the Yankees during spring training and didn't have any extra-base hits.
