Pirates Trade Roman Colon to the Braves

The Pittsburgh Pirates have traded right-handed pitcher Roman Colon to the Atlanta Braves, according to Talking Chop. Colon was in extended Spring Training with the Pirates after missing out on a spot with any of the full season teams.

Pirates Add Two Minor League Free Agents

According to the minor league free agent tracker on Baseball America, the Pittsburgh Pirates have added two minor league free agents. The new additions are outfielder Brett Carroll and right-handed pitcher Roman Colon. Carroll had previous been with the Washington Nationals, and elected free agency this off-season. Royals promote Bueno, DFA Colon

The Kansas City Royals called up left-handed pitcher Francisley Bueno from Class AAA Omaha and designated right-hander Roman Colon for assignment, MLB.com reported Saturday. Bueno went 1-3 with a 2.85 ERA appeared in 25 games, striking out 38 batters in 41 innings pitched. Colon is 0-0 with a 6.75 ERA in eight innings of relief since being called up to the Royals June 14.
