The Los Angeles Angels have recalled right-handed pitcher Robert Coello from their Triple-A Salt Lake minor league affiliate. Making room for him on the active roster, the organization has optioned outfielder Scott Cousins to the same farm club. Coello will provide bullpen depth for Los Angeles.

Outfielder Scott Cousins had his contract purchased from Triple-A Salt Lake by the Los Angeles Angels Tuesday. He will get some playing time due to the injury of Peter Bourjos. He has struggled at Salt Lake mightily this year but the parent club is strapped on options.

Clearing waivers, he will remain in the system as insurance in case of injury do the parent club thoughout the season.
