UAB started their season off with four straight wins, beating Troy, Santa Clara, Arizona, and Old Dominion. After this win streak, UAB traveled to New York City to play Oklahoma who was ranked 13th at the time. Oklahoma is now ranked number 6 in the nation with only one loss.
