First of all let me say I told you so. I posted Friday that Lesnar would beat Couture by ground and pound in the second round. So let me just take a moment to pat myself on the back.
Done.
Now lets talk about the fight. I have to admit I thought Lesnar was going to manhandle Couture, but the old man really showed me a lot he was able to put Lesnar up against the fence several times and get his wind back. He landed a couple good shots also. What was most impressive was his ability to stuff Lesnar's shots.
I was a little dissappointed with how the fight ended. The punch that dropped Randy just didn't look like it was that hard. To me it looked like a glancing blow, but then again even a glancing blow from a fist that big in the temple must hurt. Lesnar pounced on Randy like a rabid elephant and pounded him out.
The worst part about the fight is that I don't know that we will see Randy fight for the title again. I just can't see him having that many fights ...

Randy Couture's Mangled Face (Worse than Jens Pulver?)
If there was any question as to how hard UFC heavyweight Brock Lesnar hits -- you'll find the answer in Randy Couture's face.

Lesnar beats Couture for UFC Heavyweight title
Brock Lesnar, in just his fourth professional MMA fight, won the UFC Heavyweight Championship from Randy Couture last night at UFC 91 with a TKO in the second round. Not sure what this says about MMA, but to me it says bad things if a seasoned (maybe too seasoned at 45 years-old) veteran can get beat down by what would be called a rookie in other sports. Brock Lesnar shook up the MMA world last night with his amazing performance against Randy Couture. He went toe to toe with a very good heavyweight fighter and came way with a punishing victory. This could be the beginning of a new era for MMA, as Brock has the tools to be around for a very long time.
