One More Time: Kimbo Is Great

I disagree with most points in the article. The one thing I really disagree with is about him generating more buzz than UFC 86. Nobody I know is talking about Kimbo lately, but most of my friends are talking about 86. Not all of my friends are MMA fans either.

Who cares how popular he is. This isn't High School. The media can make anyone popular. If all the You tube phenoms decided to enter into MMA, would that be good for MMA? You made one point in your whole article. Kimbo is popular! OK, good point. I'll agree with that, but he still is not a good MMA fighter. You made the point that his skills aren't as good as GSP's. Yes, but his skills aren't as good as James Thompson's either. Your point about his next fight having more buzz that UFC 86 is what is bollocks. Where are your facts? The only things people got out of his fight against James Thompson is that he should have lost and now they question the legitimacy of MMA. The only reason there is any buzz for his next fight is because people want to see him lose like he should have the first time. If he would have won that fight fair and square then the interest to see him again would be minimal because he was exposed as a fraud.

KIMBO HATERS jealous cause there other little boyfriend mma stars aren't getting any hype stop hating and don't reply to me with some reason why your not hating cause you are and deep inside you know it.

Again, who cares about hype. Real MMA fans care about performance. If you really want to have a debate over Kimba, then talk about his last performance. I only got one thing to say about it. Embarrassing!!!!!!!

i agree that he has been good for the sport in the sense that more people are starting to watch. on the other hand he is just a terrible fighter

I'ts kimbo not kimba (Mycal2), so GSP,Chuck,Silvia,etc never had a bad day or a bad fight? see I told you your a hater.If he's overrated then so are most mma fighter if judged by only one bad fight.

Obviously you never watched Rocky III. (Clubber Lang, a.k.a Mr. T) was a hardcore fighter, grimey, tough and jsut over-powering, but he was not a great champ. Kimbo is a GREAT Street Fighter, with only one loss. But even a mediocre MMA can beat him. He beat Mercer (44-45 years old), Tank Abbot (washed up brawler, just like the way Kimbo will be)

So by your wisdom, anyone in MMA can compare themselves to the elite MMA has to offer, because they to have lost once too. Also, anyone that debates your points are haters. First, lets be real, the guy writing this article said Kimbo is great because he has internet hype. Thats my point. WHo cares about internet hype, its what you do in the ring or octagon ect... PERIOD! So, when talking KImbo and MMA and his performance inside the ring,........ not good!

I Think Kimbo is a great fighter in general but is he ready for the who's who of MMA is a totally different story. I'm sure even he would agree that he is a long ways off from being ready for the likes of a Couture, Nogueira, Gonzaga and Emelianenko. These guys would pick him apart. I think he is however on the right track in preparing for such opposition. He is still mildly one dimensional and needs to get his MMA Skills up. All he has at the moment is heart and a punch. That will work with "B" level opponents but not with world class Mixed Martial Artists. Give him a few years and he will be a force in the MMA world.
