Regardless of who you picked to win UFC 98's final showdown, it remains a fairly unspoken yet obvious possibility that Rashad Evans and Lyoto Machida turn in an epic disaster of a main event. A poor showing should never be expected, however preparing for the worst might be a good idea regarding this particular match up.

  • I'm prepared for the first two rounds to be garbage, but come round three look to see Rashad make his move. From that moment on the fight changes...
  • I don't think it's going to be boring. Yeah fans may think Machida's style is boring but, I love it. I also think Evans would be the perfect opponent for Machida. Evans is aggressive and is going to go after Machida.
  • I guess it all depends who and how you look at it! If you just want a KO or a fight that looks like something you see in a bar. Or you look at it like a MMA fight then you know it a matter of technique. I don't think anyone would see this fight as boring, I think its a good match up! But if people do find this fight boring I think Dana might have a little problem on his hands. I think certain fighters are getting to popular and fans are starting to watch for the wrong reasons. They are expecting every fight to be a$$ kicking, bloodbath,or KO. As we all know that don't always happen.
  • i think the first and mid second rounds will be sleepers considering Machida is more or less a "point striker" he'll hit and move just to see if he can pull it off. Rashad has been known to give up a round for the sake of trying to get used to his opponents timing. I think Rashads' hand speed may be the winning factor for him.. i dont really see Machida ko'n Rashad i mean sht Rashad got rocked a few times but Brad Imes and Chuck Liddell for starters and he wasn't phased much. then of course..depends on what brand of oatmeal they're eating
  • What's with the 'oatmeal' gag???? Anyway, "BYanywear" I agree with you about Machidas "stick & move" tactics and Rashads Timing "timing" technique... However Machida is just as fast, maybe faster and he has KO power. I think this fight is going to be a chess match until one makes a mistake, then it's over. I like both fighters so I'm on the fence on this one.
  • Finally we agree on something...
  • I still say Machida wins. Lol.
