Amir Sadollah vs. Phil Baroni:
Round 1: Baroni comes out swinging as expected. Sadollah grabs the head and lands couple of nice knees but Badass keeps swinging wildly and he's landing punches. They clinch to the fence and exchange with neither fighter having a clear advantage. Baroni scores a takedown. Sadlloah pulls guard and immediately starts looking for an arm. Baroni lets him up and lands a left hook. Sadollah answers with a nice kick to the body. They exchange some blows and Baroni is cut at the left eye. Sadollah scores with two strong knees and two more as the round ends. That secures the round for Sadollah on our card, 10-9.Round 2: Baroni is battered and appears gassed. Sadollah smells blood and comes out throwing kicks and punches. Baroni refuses to go away easily as he lands a nice right but Sadollah responds with a straight kick then lands more knees and another front kick. Baroni lands a combination but his power is drained. Sadollah with a big elbow to the head then some knees to the body. Baroni's hands are dropping and Sadollah is scoring. Baroni is still landing occasional shots but at this point they have little effect on Sadollah. The round ends in a clinch with another 10-9 for Sadollah.Round 3: The third round begins in the same fashion with Sadollah being the fresher of the fighters. Baroni keeps fighting and is throwing with everything he has, knowing he needs a finish. Sadollah's kicks are accurate and scoring at will then he's following up with punches and elbows. A straight kick to the body by Sadollah is answered by a nice left by Baroni. Sadollah scores with some nasty leg kicks then hurts Baroni with a high kick. Baroni is now bleeding from the head and Sadollah is punishing him with a variety of punches, kicks, knees, and elbows, and they're landing on every part of Baroni. The round and the fight ends with devastating knees by your winner, Sadollah, 10-9 for the final round.
Final result: Sadollah wins by unanimous decision.
Antonio Rogerio Nogueira vs. Luiz Cane:
Round 1: They come out measuring early and swap some leg kicks. As expected, Nogueira's boxing looks strong. They trade some shots then Nog lands a big left that rocks Cane. Nog stays controlled but continues the onslaught. Cane goes down and Mazzagatti stops the fight as Nog lands two more for good measure. Good stoppage.
Final result: Nogueira wins by TKO at 1:56 of round 1.
Paulo Thiago vs. Jacob Volkman:
Round 1: Thiago throws a huge high kick that just misses. They clinch up and get to the fence. Volkman lands some body punches then Thiago takes him down. Volkman gets back to his feet as some blood appears on the bridge of his nose. Thiago takes him down and gains full mount. Volkman gets him to half guard before absorbing any damage then Thiago lands a few short elbows. Volkman gets it to half guard and Thiago lets him up. Thiago scores with a big leg kick and Volkman shoots but Thiago shows off a nice sprawl. They're clinched at the cage exchanging knees to the legs. Volkman lands a combo as they break. Thiago scores with a big punch to the face then a combo that sends Volkman down as the horn sounds. 10-9 Thiago.
Round 2: Volkman appears ok early then Thiago sends him back to the mat with a leg kick. Volkman gets right back up and takes Thiago down. They grapple with Volkman maintaining control and scoring but not really doing damage. Thiago scrambles to his feet and they clinch to the cage again. The action is slow until Volkman takes Thiago down again. Volkman lands some shots then takes the back. Thiago sweeps and lands in Volkman's guard where he lands some elbows but nothing devastating. Thiago stand then lands a big shot as he pounces back down and gets side control and the round ends. We're scoring a close round for Thiago 10-9.
Round 3: They both appear pretty fresh as they start boxing then Thiago lands a big left and Volkman goes down once again. Thiago gets side control momentarily but Volkman scrambles and gets on top. Volkman lands some good body shots then they get back to their feet. Volman's takedown attempt is averted by Thiago but a second try gets him down. Volkman has control but his punches aren't very effective. Volkman gets side control, traps Thiago's arm with his legs, pins the other arm and lands some nice elbows. Thiago escapes and gets on top but Volkman locks in a d'arce choke. It appears tight but Thiago gets out, gains top control and scores some big shots as the round ends. The round goes to Volkman, 10-9, but the fight goes to Thiago 29-28 on FiveKnuckles' card.
Final result: Thiago wins by unanimous decision
Josh Koscheck vs. Anthony Johnson:
Round 1: They greet each other with leg kicks then Kos lands a left hook. Rumble throws a high kick that's blocked by Rumble then Koscheck scores with a nice right. Johnson lands a combo then a right that appears to have hurt Koscheck. Kos goes for a takedown but Rumble sprawls.. They scramble and Rumble knees Koscheck to the head while he's down. Kos takes time to recover while Yamasaki takes a point from Johnson. The fight continues and Koscheck throws some fast hands but finds only air. Rumble lands a combo then Kos takes him down and gets his back. He lands some knees to the body then attempts a choke before the round ends. With the point deduction, we're scoring it a 10-8 for Koscheck.Round 2: The round opens with an eye poke by Koscheck. Rumble recovers quickly and as the fight resumes, he takes another eye poke, this one worse than the first. They continue again and start to slug it out. A great exchange in the center of the cage leads to a Koscheck takedown. He lands some elbows from the half guard of Johnson. Rumble is trying to tie up the arms of Kos but Kos breaks free and lands more elbows. Rumble is taking some abuse so he rolls and gives up his back. Koscheck locks in a rear naked choke and Rumble taps just before he enters dreamland.Final result: Koscheck wins by submission (choke) at 4:47 of round 2Tito Ortiz vs. Forrest Griffin:
Round 1: Griffin lands a 2 punch combo early as the crowd chants "Forrest, Forrest". Ortiz lands a leg kick and Griffin throws a right down the middle. Ortiz shoots and takes Griffin down where a beating begins from Griffin's guard. Tito does some damage with punches and elbows but Forrest scrambles and gets to his feet. The exchanges are pretty even then Forrest gets an advantage. Ortiz goes for another takedown but Griffin averts it. Griffin is landing leg kicks then following up with combinations. The takedown and ground and pound by Ortiz gives him the round on our card, 10-9.Round 2: Ortiz throws a right hand bomb to open the round but misses but he then lands a nice left hook. Griffin responds with a nice leg kick but gets taken down again immediately after. Ortiz is scoring from the guard but Griffin scrambles to his feet as Ortiz tries to pass guard. Forrest lands a front kick to the face then a few nice combos. Ortiz takes him down again, landing in the butterfly guard of Griffin. Griffin ties him up from his back and is looking for submissions but Ortiz is landing elbows and punches that open a big cut on Griffin's eye. Griffin gets a sweep and lands some shots from the top as the round ends. Too little too late as Ortiz takes the round 10-9.Round 3: They come out swinging with Griffin getting the edge in the standup once again. The "Forrest" chants start again as he scores with combinations but doesn't seem to be hurting Ortiz. Griffin lands a nice right to the head, then a body punch and leg kick. Ortiz seems to be conserving energy but then goes for a shot but Griffin stuffs it. Griffin continues to score in the standup then lands a big head kick, clearly controlling the round. Ortiz answers with a left but Forrest comes right back with a nice combo and a leg kick. Ortiz' takedown attempt is stuffed by Griffin again. Griffin dominates the round and takes it 10-9.
