When Jose Aldo fights again it will be for the first time in over a year. And for the 6th time, he will be putting his Featherweight title on the line.
The folks over at UFCTonight broke the news tonight that Aldo will be defending his strap against Frankie Edgar in Vegas on February 2nd, a fight that will likely headline the promotions annual "Super Saturday" fight card. Edgar was originally scheduled to fill in for the injured Erik Koch, making his featherweight debut against Aldo at UFC 153.
The former 3-time defending Lightweight champion gets an immediate shot at becoming a two division champion when (a feat that has only been accomplished by UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture and B.J. Penn) when he stands opposite Aldo on the eve of Super Bowl 47.
A Light Heavyweight tilt between Rashad Evans and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira has also been rumored for this fight card. We'll have plenty more information on 'UFC 156: Aldo vs. Edgar' as it becomes available. photo via - espn.go
