It hasn't even been a week since Chris Weidman stunned Anderson Silva at UFC 162 and the UFC has wasted no time in signing a rematch. UFC president Dana White made it official on ESPN and announced Weidman vs. SIlva II is ready to go for UFC 168.
BEST OF MAXIM
It was easy to watch Anderson Silva at UFC 162 and criticize his arrogance but there is a side of him UFC fans have never seen until now. Silva posted a dramatic video blog on his YouTube channel which shows The Spider humbled and devastated after his KO loss at the hands of Chris Weidman.
It all started with the strangest of interviews. One in which Anderson Silva said that the best outcome would be for Weidman to walk away champion. This was days before the fight, and even then Anderson was saying he didn’t want a rematch. Talk about not having confidence in yourself? That was weird enough, and I personally think Anderson was jsut playing and got caught, but that...
Anderson Silva assures fans that he will be ready for Weidman vs. Silva II at UFC 168 on December 28. Gonna be a huge rematch and I’m taking Silva by destruction.

At 6:30 p.m. ET on Saturday July 13th UFC President Dana White announced live on ESPN that Chris Weidman and Anderson Silva have both signed a contract to fight inside of the MGM Grand on December 28th. This bout will headline UFC 168 with Ronda Rousey vs. Miesha Tate II being bumped to co-main event status. Biggest card in UFC history? UFC 100 and 129 may come close, but on paper...
Well, that didn’t take too long. Exactly one week after former UFC middleweight king Anderson Silva (pictured) lost his crown to Chris Weidman, then proceeded to claim he wasn’t interested in a rematch with the man who abruptly snapped his seven-year reign, UFC president Dana White announced Saturday on ESPN’s SportsCenter that Silva has in fact agreed to a sequel.
Wow! Well, then again, this was the most expected rematch ever in the world of MMA, so yeah. But hey, it’s here, and we will be seeing the rematch within 6 months, which to me, means Chris Weidman and Anderson SIlva will be clogging the newswires for almost a year straight — and I’m fine with that.
Dana White made a special announcement today, revealing the news:
(via Getty Image)Surprise, surprise.“Ever since the fight got over, I don’t know if there’s ever been any more hype, ever, in UFC history after a fight,” White said on “SportsCenter.” “Everybody has been wondering if there will be a rematch. I’ve been working on it since Thursday.“Dec. 28 in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand, Anderson Silva will fight Chris Weidman in...

Chris Weidman Goes On Sportscenter
Jump to the 4:50 mark. Anderson Silva gets emotional and cries about losing the UFC Middleweight Champion to Chris Weidman. Hold on, let me rephrase that: “Silva gets emotional about pretending to be knocked out and trying to Matrix dodge punches when he should’ve just tried hard and put at least 20% effort into fighting.” Anyway, this proves once and for all that Silva...
Chris Weidman’s victory lap media tour is over and it is back to reality for him as a husband and father. He is seen here in his minivan driving around his young children. That’s one soccer mom you don’t want to mess with.
