At UFC 70, nations collide, Andrei Arlovski fought Fabricio Werdum to a unaminous decision in favor of the Belarusan. However, the fight was lackluster and uneventful. Arlovski was the aggressor but was tenative to engage in any combinations, thus only throwing an occasional jab that never hurt Werdum. The crowd boo'd and became restless by the end of the second round. This fight was reminiscent of Arlovski's last title challenge in a rubber match with former Heavy Weight Champ Tim Sylvia. As a result of this last fight, Dana White has publicly announced that Arlovski is not next in line for a title shot, which is in contrast to his previous statement that the winner of the fight will challenge the winner of the next heavy weight title match. Back to the drawing boards for Arlovski. Perhaps this is in wake of the recent signing of Rodrigo Nogueira, who is rumored to fight Brandon Vera later this year.
