Ronda Rousey isn't the only Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) title holder getting blockbuster movie offers from Hollywood. Latino Review reports that mixed martial arts (MMA) "Marvel," Georges St. Pierre, will make his big screen debut in a supporting role in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," the sequel to the wildly successful "Captain America: The First Avenger" film, which has grossed more than $176 million to date. Here is the scoop: Just got off the phone with my Marvel source who gave me an Exclusive scoop… I've been told that mixed martial artist and current UFC Welterweight Champion, Georges St. Pierre aka GSP has been cast in Marvel's "Captain America: The Winter Soldier". GSP will play one of the villains, Batroc the Leaper!!! According to the character description, "Batroc has no superhuman abilities, but is in peak physical condition and is an Olympic-level weightlifter with extraordinary agility and reflexes and is an expert in hand-to-hand combat who specializes in Savate, a French style of kickboxing." It almost sounds too perfect for the French-Canadian, whose acting resume includes three low-budget, straight-to-DVD films titled "Death Warrior," "Hell's Chain" and "Never Surrender." His head trainer, Firas Zahabi, first teased St. Pierre's involvement in a movie last week on "The MMA Hour," but said he was sworn to secrecy. "Rush" will join some of Tinseltown's finest on this ambitious project, which is scheduled to be released on April 4, 2014, such as Samuel L. Jackson, Chris Evans, Robert Redford and Scarlett Johansson among others. No word on how this will affect his next 170-pound title defense, if at all, which is set to come against current No. 1 welterweight contender Johny Hendricks in late summer or early fall (more on that here). However, one would hope that he loops in president Dana White early and often, who got burned bad when one of his other high-profile fighters, Quinton Jackson, bailed on the UFC 107 main event in Dec. 2009 to reprise the role of B.A. Baracus in the "A-Team" remake., http://juicedsportsblog.com/sports-news/news/batroc-the-leaper-georges-st-pierre-lands-role-in-upcoming-captain-america-winter-soldier-movie
