A battle with leukemia wasn’t enough to stop Bryan Baker from getting back on track, as last season’s middleweight tourney runner-up earned a unanimous decision over veteran Jeremy Horn in the featured bout at Thurday’s Bellator 30 event in Louisville, Kentucky.
Also on the card, Ed West and Zach Makovsky advanced to the finals of Bellator’s bantamweight tournament and will now meet on Oct. 14 at Bellator 32 for the promotion’s first-ever 135-pound title.
The official Bellator 30 results were:
- Bryan Baker def. Jeremy Horn via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28)
- Zach Makovsky def. Bryan Goldsby via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28) – bantamweight semifinal
- Ed West def. Jose Vega via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) – bantamweight semifinal
- Brent Weedman def. Jacob McClintock via TKO (punches) – Round 1, 3:05
