Next weekend, reigning UFC lightweight champ Benson Henderson (Pictured) will enter the Octagon looking to collect his second straight title defense. Whether Bendo beats Nate Diaz in devastating fashion or posts a controversial decision like he has in his past two scraps, a win is a win and he just wants to keep the bling-bling. “I’m just trying to get the W,” Henderson stated during this week’s conference call. “However I can get it, if he slips on a banana peel, I’ll take it. Close decision, I’ll take that, too. Getting a W in the UFC is not easy.” However, just because Henderson won’t be picky about how he notches his next victory – which would mark 16 in his last 17 bouts, a torrid run that began in June of 2007 – it doesn’t mean he’s looking to go the full five rounds in Seattle. Unfortunately for “Smooth,” he realizes that it’s oftentimes out of his control and he has to allow the judges to determine his fate. “You always fight to end fights, to be as decisive as possible,” Henderson said. “Sometimes when fighting the best fighters on the planet, you can’t finish [your opponent].” Henderson and Diaz battle next Saturday in the UFC’s final FOX card of 2012.
