An Oct. 12 Cage Fury Fighting Championships show that was supposed to feature a main event between Internet brawler Kimbo Slice and UFC veteran David "Tank" Abbott has been canceled after all.
Felix Martinez, CFFC president, today made the announcement of cancellation on the organization's official website.
"CFFC 6" was scheduled to take place next weekend at Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, N.J.
Earlier this week, rumors of the event's possible cancellation spread when it was learned the organization lost a deal with its pay-per-view partner. Martinez stated that the event would instead be streamed over the Internet and that the show would go on. Today, though, Martinez claimed a "major investor" pulled out of the event, which prompted the cancellation.
