Mendes was scheduled to compete at UFC 157 on February 23th but his opponent, Manny Gamburyan, was forced to pull out due to a broken thumb. The UFC was not able to find a replacement on such short notice. Mendes is a tough guy to fight with a full training camp let alone with two weeks to prepare. The Fox 7 card is stacked but because of that he will most likely be fighting on the prelims. Let’s hope the exciting Clay Guida, who fought Roger Huerta and Ben Henderson shows up, rather than the one who fought Gray Maynard.
