After snapping a two-fight losing streak with a March victory, heavyweight Cheick Kongo has signed a new six-fight deal with the UFC, according to Fighters Only.
The deal follows the UFC’s recent signings of Kongo’s Wolfslair teammates Tom Blackledge, Kurt Warburton, and Rob Broughton.
Kongo (15-6-1) is 8-4 in the UFC since making his Octagon debut in 2006, including three-straight TKO wins over Dan Evensen, Mostapha Al-Turk, and Antoni Hardonk before dropping back-to-back bouts to Cain Velasquez and Frank Mir in 2009. The French heavyweight rebounded last month with a third-round submission due to strikes of Paul Buentello at UFC on Versus 1.
