When Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino (pictured) signed with Invicta FC in February, company president Shannon Knapp promised if Cyborg was victorious in her promotional debut she would advance to face Marloes Coenen to become Invicta’s inaugural featherweight champion. Well, after annihilating Fiona Muxlow this past Saturday, Cyborg will in fact fight for the 145-pound title at Invicta 6. Cybrog and Coenen will rematch later this summer at a yet-to-be determined venue. According to the trusty rumor mill, the shootout will go down June 29. Cyborg previously posted a TKO win over Coenen at “Strikeforce: Miami” in January 2010. Since that time, Cyborg has fought just three times. The Brazilian was issued a year-long steroid suspension after meeting Hiroko Yamanaka in December 2011. Coenen, meanwhile, has rattled off wins in four of her last five outings. “Rumina’s” lone blemish during her current run was a costly one. She was submitted by Miesha Tate for her Strikeforce bantamweight title in July 2011. Invicta 6 will most likely be made available for live viewing via online pay-per-view.
