Who was the opening act in Ronda Rousey’s UFC debut? That’s going to be a trivia question fight fans will be asking each other 10 years from now. UFC 157 will be a watershed event for the planet’s premier mixed martial arts promotion. Not only will it mark the first time two females have headlined a UFC pay-per-view broadcast, but it will also be the first time an openly gay fighter takes the Octagon in Liz Carmouche. However, the latter storyline isn’t receiving nearly as much pub as the prior. While many pundits have questioned why Rousey would receive top billing in a UFC show which features a potential light heavyweight top contender scrap between Dan Henderson (Pictured) and Lyoto Machida, Henderson is unfazed with his co-main event status. “I am perfectly fine as the co-main,” Henderson recently tweeted. “I will get to relax and enjoy the women go at it [once my fight is done].” UFC president Dana White’s decision to have ‘Rousey vs. Carmouche’ plastered across the billboard shouldn’t come as a surprise. He has long stated that championship affairs will always receive the star treatment, regardless of weight class, and in this case, sex of the contestants. UFC 157 takes place February 23rd inside Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
