Just two days after UFC president Dana White claimed they were working on something for Anderson Silva that didn’t involve Chris Weidman (Pictured), it appears “The All-American” just might be the middleweight king’s next potential victim – much to the dismay of Team Silva. “That fight’s closer and more possible than people think,” White told UFC Tonight of Silva facing Weidman. “I actually thought that Weidman was going to be out a lot longer than he was because of his injury, but he’s healed up pretty well and he’ll be ready to start training in a couple of months. “So we’re looking at a couple of different options, some options we like, and Weidman is one of them.” Weidman is recovering from a November shoulder surgery that will have him sidelined until March. Silva is currently marinating and doesn’t intend on returning until the spring. So, the timing is right for the 185-pounders to collide.
