The number one contender for Anderson Silva’s middleweight championship has been a toss up for the past month or so. Many fans and critics think that the undefeated Chris Weidman should get the next shot. Then when Rashad Evans came out of the woodwork and said he wanted to fight Jones for his title, UFC President Dana White said he would have to wait until after UFC 156 to see who was next for Silva.
Well, UFC 156 is now a thing of the past and Evans lost his co-main event fight in a boring fashion to Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.
Speaking with Ariel Helwani for FUEL TV, White said that if he had to go out on a limb then Weidman would be next.
“If I had to go out on limb right here, right now and say it, I would say yes Weidman’s going to get that shot.”
If you know anything about White and the UFC brass, nothing is guaranteed and when he says Weidman will get the shot, we will have to wait and see. More than likely the team of Joe Silva, Sean Shelby and White will head back to UFC hea...

Dana White Disappointed with Blackzilians at UFC 156
No fight team had more on the line at UFC 156 than the talented Blackzilians. The squad’s top two superstars were on display: Alistair Overeem (Pictured) returned from a nine-month steroid suspension would have earned a shot at Cain Velasquez’s heavyweight crown with a win over Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva, while Rashad Evans could have found himself in a tango with middleweight...

With Leather Live Discussion: UFC 156
Ever since Georges St-Pierre made his triumphant return to re-capture his UFC Welterweight Championship at UFC 154, we’ve been hearing this one phrase thrown around ad nauseum. That phrase? “Superfight”. That’s because Anderson Silva was on hand at UFC 154 in Toronto to watch St-Pierre knock the rust off, and a lot of us believed that was some sort of foreshadowing. Of course...
