Whether or not Chuck agrees has yet been discussed in detail. Before the fight Chuck had said win or lose there was no retirement coming after the fight. However, he did make it pretty certain retirement was coming:

  • Makes Dana sound like a dictator, doesn't it?
  • Just a little. I read this yesterday and thought exactly the same thing.
  • Lidell is not going to let Dana dictate when he retires. It wil be on his own terms. If he does retire than thank you Chuck for making the sport what it is today.
  • Bravo on the thanks front Redwing. Chuck was one of my favourite fighters from when I first got into watching this sport, despite the fact that he's annoyed me a bit recently. It will be a shame to see him go, but perhaps it is time to say goodbye to the UFC.... who knows. Either way, good luck to him.
  • So what..b/c he lost this fight Dana is saying he's done? What if he had won it? I'm postive he would be singing a different tune. I don't like the fact that Dana looks at these fighters like objects, machines to make him money, like they should have a barcode on thier necks, and once they are 'broken' it's time to toss them aside and fine tune the next one to make him money. Liddell did wonders for this sport, and if he does retire, I would sadly miss him!! :(
