If there was ever a time for Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos (Pictured) to invoke a strict diet, there’s no better moment than the present. According to UFC president Dana White, his experiment with women’s mixed martial arts will strictly feature the bantamweight division – specifically Ronda Rousey. So, if the former Strikeforce featherweight champ hopes to become an Octagon athlete like her bitter rival, Cyborg needs to shed some pounds. “We’re bringing in the 135-pound division,” White stated following the UFC 154 post-fight press conference. “I’m trying this whole women’s thing out. Obviously, Ronda is the champ. I think Ronda has the potential to be a big star. She’s already getting media that we’ve never even gotten before and she’s never even set foot in the UFC yet. “That’s the division that we’re bringing in. We’re bringing in the 135-pound division. So, I don’t know. We’ll see.” Apparently, what fans won’t be seeing is the biggest female fight available. White believes Cyborg wants no part of Rousey and that’s why the Brazilian’s team claimed this past week that Cyborg’s doctor would not provide medical clearance for her to compete in the bantamweight class. “It’s pretty clear to me, too,” White said of Cyborg not wanting to tango with Rousey. “Our matchmakers have talked to their camp and she doesn’t seem too excited to fight Ronda.” Cyborg is currently serving a year-long steroid suspension. The 27-year-old is eligible to reapply for licensing on December 17th.
