David Loiseau’s return to the UFC has apparently been scrapped as the middleweight veteran was pulled from his rumored UFC 113 matchup against John Salter after the Quebec Athletic Commission denied to license him to fight at the May 8 event in Montreal, The Canadian Press reports.
Loiseau (19-9), a Montreal-native and former 185-pound contender, replaced an injured Nick Catone against Salter (4-1) late last week, but the UFC never officially announced the bout and must now seek another last-minute replacement.
The reason for Loiseau’s removal has not been disclosed.
On Tuesday, the UFC confirmed that heavyweight Tim Hague will fill in for Chad Corvin and face Joey Beltran on the UFC 113 preliminary card, while middleweight Joe Doerksen officially replaced Tim Credeur against Tom Lawlor at the May 8 event.
