UFC Urijah Faber Dominick Cruz 132 Weigh-In

Lorenzo Fertitta’s Twitter account was working at a fast and furious pace early Friday morning. Among one of the UFC co-owner’s many announcements was that the trilogy between bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber (Pictured) will likely go down July 7th.

The yet-to-be announced show is expected to take place inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The organization previously requested the venue on that date from the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

The card will likely be dubbed “UFC 148: Cruz vs. Faber III.”

Their feud began back in March 2007, when Faber handed Cruz the first and only blemish on his resume in a WEC featherweight bout. Cruz went on to avenge the loss by posting a highly controversial unanimous decision win over Faber to retain his 135-pound UFC title this past July.

With the series now knotted up at one apiece, Cruz and Faber look to settle the score inside the Octagon once they finish serving as opposing coaches on “The Ultimate Fighter 15.” Filming for the show begins in less than a month and will be followed by 13 consecutive weeks of back-and-forth banter.

The arch enemies rekindled their rivalry last night via Twitter, with each 145-pounder thumbing out solid zingers. However, Cruz appeared to came with more potent posts.
