On this fine Thanksgiving Eve, it was announced welterweights Erick Silva (Pictured) and Jay Hieron will collide at UFC 156. Both 170-pounders are looking to bounce back from disappointing losses. Silva’s rapid ascent was derailed in a unanimous decision defeat to Jon Fitch at UFC 153. In his first fight inside the Octagon in over seven years, Hieron dropped a decision to Jake Ellenberger last month at “UFC on FX 5.” Despite the loss, “The Thoroughbred” is still 11-2 over his past 13 outings. The scrap will likely appear in the card’s prelims. Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada hosts February 2nd festivities. Here are the athletes expected to perform on Super Bowl Saturday: Erick Silva vs. Jay Hieron Jon Fitch vs. Demian Maia Rashad Evans vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira Alistair Overeem vs. Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva Frankie Edgar vs. Jose Aldo (UFC featherweight champion)
