The lab geeks over at Sports Science recently hooked Georges St-Pierre up to several devices in order to test just how badass the UFC welterweight champion truly is. After the experiment was complete, ESPN’s crew solidified GSP’s status as one of the world’s most dangerous assassins.
When examining his anaerobic threshold, the point where most athletes are completely winded, St-Pierre’s gas tank is only 85% empty.
In regards to the 170-pounder’s punching power, his right hand registered 2,859 pounds of force while his right kick clocked in at 3,477 pounds of force.
How much force does a punch-kick combo generate, you ask? Roughly 6,000 pounds can be unleashed in exactly .98 seconds.
His standup game is clearly vicious, but the experiment wouldn’t be complete without looking at St-Pierre’s bread and butter. When shooting in for a takedown, the champ produces 2,400 watts of power. According to the experts, that’s on par with what light heavyweight Rashad Evans scored.
Evans outweighs GSP by 35 pounds.
