Renowned grappler Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza put his dominating jiu-jitsu on display, locking a kimura on UFC transplant Ed Herman and forcing the tap at 3:10 into round one.
The fight was all “Jacare” as soon as the Brazilian was able to take the fight to ground. Herman landed an illegal upkick which brought a warning from the referee, but a confusing restart on the feet.
It was all for naught as Souza landed his second impressive takedown of the fight and was able to quickly isolate the arm and grab the submission.
Both fighters will be in the UFC after tonight, but Souza’s impressive victory gives him a huge shot of momentum heading into the promotion.

The Oklahoma State Athletic Commission has medically suspended five athletes who competed in Saturday’s “Strikeforce: Marquardt vs. Saffiedine” event.
UFC transfer Ed Herman (Pictured) and Kurt Holobaugh were each issued indefinite bans for their respective injuries. Both need doctor’s clearance before returning to action.

Strikeforce’s days are over, but for the fighters that took part in the final event this past Saturday night the bruises and scars are not. The Oklahoma State Athletic Commission released the medical suspensions today.
Only five fighters have received medical suspensions. Topping the list was UFC transfer fighter Ed Herman who has been suspended indefinitely following his loss...

Round 1 - Herman comes out with a low kick and Jacare walks through it. Herman is keeping at a distance; Jacare is winging punches early and we're to the cage early. Herman with some nice dirty boxing and Jacare backs out. Jacare with a nice double leg 75 seconds in. Herman goes for a heel hook and scramble from Souza gets him back into full guard...
