A huge congratulations to UFC color commentator, Joe Rogan, who has received his black belt in 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu this past Tuesday, June 26, 2012. Rogan was awarded this honor by the school’s founder and long time friend, Eddie Bravo.
The 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu system is an non-traditional, unorthodox style of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, with emphasis on no gi techniques which can be easily translated to Mixed Martial Arts. With this expertise, Joe Rogan has been able to explain the intricacies of the grappling aspect of MMA in terms that are easy to understand by the casual fight fan during UFC broadcasts.
This is not Rogan’s first black belt, as he also holds a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
