Joey Beltran returns to the UFC as a light heavyweight to take on James Te Huna at UFC on FUEL TV 4. Beltran takes the spot of Brandon Vera who was recently selected to meet Mauricio “Shogun” Rua in the main event of UFC on FOX 4.
The tough Beltran (14-7) compiled a 3-4 record while competing as a heavyweight with the UFC. During his last appearance inside the octagon Beltran would be knocked out by Lavar Johnson at UFC on FOX 2. Beltran would bounce back from that loss with a unanimous decision win over Anton Talamantes in April.
Te Huna (14-5) enters the bout a winner in eight of his last nine bouts. He has won three of his four fights with the UFC with each victory coming via knockout. In his most recent bout, Te Huna recorded a second round technical knockout of Aaron Rosa at UFC on FX 2.
UFC on FUEL TV 4 takes place on July 11th from the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California. The main event of the card features a pivotal middleweight clash between Mark Munoz and Chris Weidman.
