Jon Fitch (pictured) will kick off his post-UFC career against Josh Burkman. World Series of Fighting president Ray Sefo confirmed with MMAFighting Wednesday that the welterweights will headline the upstart promotion’s third show. WSOF 3 takes place June 14 at a yet-to-be announced venue in Las Vegas, Nevada. Fitch owns a respectable 24-5-1 (1 NC) professional record, but has gone just 1-2-1 over his past four outings. The UFC released the former top contender after getting dominated by Demian Maia at UFC 156 in February. Berkman, meanwhile, has achieved solid success in smaller organizations since being cut by the UFC in October 2008. The 32-year-old is victorious in seven of his last eight scraps and is perfect through his previous four bouts. Fitch submitted Berkman at UFC Ultimate Fight Night 4 back in April 2006. NBC Sports Network will broadcast the night’s main card. Here are the athletes currently expected to perform in the event: Jacob Volkmann vs. TBD John Gunderson vs. Dan Lauzon Jon Fitch vs. Josh Burkman
