UFC middleweights, Alessio Sakara and Jorge Rivera will finally meet at UFC 133, as UFC officials announced the fight earlier today on UFC.com. Rivera and Sakara were actually scheduled to meet at UFC 122, but Sakara was forced to pull out of the fight due to flu like symptoms.
“Better late than never, verbal agreements are in for what should be an action-packed match between Alessio Sakara and Jorge Rivera at UFC 133," said UFC president Dana White today.
Rivera last fought at UFC 127: Penn vs. Fitch where he lost by TKO to Michael Bisping, in what was a very heated fight that sparked a lot of bad blood. Sakara was last seen at UFC Live 3, where he dropped a three round unanimous decision to Chris Weidman. Without a doubt, both men will be looking to put themselves back in the win column with hopes of getting back on the road to title contention.
UFC 133 is expected to take place August 6th from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
