That Alistair Overeem is quite the jokester – this, according to UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos (Pictured). Overeem recently told MMAFighting that dos Santos was scared to face him after “Cigano” suggested the former Strikeforce champ should lose his top contender moniker due to his drug suspension.

On this week’s edition of FUEL TV’s UFC Tonight, dos Santos quickly dispelled Overeem’s theory and responded with a resounding LOL.

“I am afraid? HAHA,” dos Santos stated. “Man, the school of Chael Sonnen is going to have more students because now [Overeem] is going to start a lot of crap just because the UFC gave Chael the opportunity to fight Anderson again. But if he thinks he’s better than me, he can come fight me, and when he feels the power of my hands he is going to change his mind.”

The 265-pounders were expected to collide at UFC 146, but Overeem was forced out of the shootout after registering more than twice the legal limit of testosterone in his system. He was issued a nine-month ban and is eligible to reapply for licensing as early as December 27th.

Meanwhile, dos Santos went on to steamroll replacement Frank Mir instead. He was expected to defend his throne against Cain Velasquez at UFC 152, but for some reason the fight didn’t come to fruition. In any event, the Brazilian brawler is ready for whoever, whenever.

“After the [Mir] fight I was feeling some pain on my body, you know because my camp for the fight is very hard and very tough,” the slugger revealed. “So I was feeling some pain, but the UFC didn’t ask me to fight [in Toronto]. They didn’t tell me anything, so here I am.

“I am ready to be training again and I’ll be ready for the fight. I don’t know when it’s going to happen. I hope soon. November would be a really great date for my fight. I am feeling 100 percent healthy and happy.”
