UFC Hall of Famer Ken Shamrock admitted to using steroids on last night’s edition of “Inside MMA” on HDNet.

As we previously reported, “Inside MMA” dedicated their show to the discussion of steroids in MMA, with Shamrock’s admission being the lead-in to the story.

Speaking with “Inside MMA,” Shamrock copped to using performance enhancing drugs and partially blamed the public’s hunger for bigger and badder athletes as the cause.

“They want home runs, baby,” Shamrock said. “They want people jacking them out of the park. But then when they find out about it they want to stick their heads in the sand and (say), ‘How bad, that was stupid, you’re crazy, don’t let him in the hall of fame.’ It’s like let’s point the finger because if we don’t point the finger at somebody else, we have to point it at ourselves because we knew. Nobody wants to take responsibility, but everyone wants to see it.”

The use of PED’s has long been attached to Shamrock.  He received a one-year suspension in February 2009 for testing positive for several banned substances including the steroid Stanozolol, following a first round victory over Ross Clifton at Wargods “Valentine’s Eve Massacre” in Fresno, California.

In a 2008 interview, Frank Shamrock claimed his adoptive brother Ken had been using steroids “his whole life.”

Shamrock is scheduled to fight again on July 18 against Pedro Rizzo for Impact Fighting Championship in Sydney, Australia.
