PLAYERS: Dana WhiteSam StoutPat Barry
After a mundane night of MMA action, UFC President Dana White awarded Sam Stout (pictured) and Shawn Jordan each an additional $50,000 for their special performances Saturday night at “UFC 161: Evans vs. Henderson.” James Krause doubled dipped and took home two bonus checks.  On a night where there was a record-tying nine decisions in 11 scraps, the only bonus check up for debate was “Fight of the Night.” That honor went to Krause and Stout for their back-and forth-battle. Krause was also a shoe-in to win “Submission of the Night,” as his guillotine choke on Stout was the lone tap out on the card. Same goes for Shawn Jordan. His TKO victory over Pat Barry was the only (T)KO on the night. UFC 161 took place inside MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Canada. Fight of the Night: James Krause and Sam Stout ($50,000/each) Submission of the Night: James Krause ($50,000) Knockout of the Night: Shawn Jordan ($50,000)

Video: Dana White UFC 161 Post-Fight Media Scrum

UFC President Dana White spoke with members of the media on Saturday night after the post-fight press conference to discuss a variety of interesting topics including Anthony Pettis, what’s next for Rashad Evans and Dan Henderson, Jon Jones in Toronto and much more.  Watch the pre-fight media scrum below:

The Ultimate Fighter 18

The Ultimate Fighter 18: Team Rousey vs. Team Tate filming is going “bad,” according to UFC president Dana White. “It’s going exactly the way you’d expect it to be going, bad,” said White on Thursday following the UFC 161: Evans vs. Henderson media day in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey was originally supposed to coach opposite...

Dana White’s reaction to the Fitch/Burkman fight was pretty interesting.

No bashing, no snide remarks, just a simple observation full of respect to Josh Burkman and cutting down Mazzagatti. Ok, so it wasn’t a completely vitriol-free tweet, Mazzagatti took one on the chin, but what matters here is the fact that Dana was giving respect to the fighters, that’s something I’m happy about. And let’s be honest here, Mazzagatti was just standing there...

Dana White Feels No Vindication Following Jon Fitch’s Defeat

Most thought UFC president Dana White couldn’t wait to cut Jon Fitch (pictured) after he was dominated by Demian Maia at UFC 156 because White was still holding a grudge against Fitch for their video game beef not too many moons ago. However, White claimed it was strictly a business decision to release the former welterweight top contender since the 35-year-old had entered ...

Anthony Pettis Out As UFC 163 Headliner

UFC President Dana White posted a tweet earlier today breaking news that Anthony "Showtime" Pettis has injured his knee and will no longer face reigning champion Jose Aldo for the featherweight title. Pettis hurt his knee, Korean Zombie will now face Jose Aldo for the title on the Aug card in Rio Brazil. -- Dana White (@danawhite) June 14, 2013 Chan Sung Jung aka "...

Dana White on Roy Nelson: ‘Somebody’s Not Telling the Truth’

If UFC 161 marked Roy Nelson’s (pictured) Octagon finale, he sure went out with a bang. Unfortunately for “Big Country,” he was the one who got blasted by Stipe Miocic. The good news for Nelson is that he set a UFC record on Saturday. The bad news is it was because he is now the only man to endure 437 significant strikes without being knocked out. However, it appears Nelson’s...

The UFC’s Million-Dollar Female Star

Ronda Rousey is the first female UFC champ and highest paid female UFC fighter — a milestone in athletics and sponsorships for female MMA. It wasn’t too long ago that UFC President Dana White said women would never fight in the UFC. Dana is now eating his words as Ronda pulls in a new fan base to the most expensive ticket in sports — 40% of UFC tickets are now being bought...

Despite loss at UFC 161 and plenty of fighting with the boss, Dana White wants Roy Nelson back.

Last night Roy Nelson set a UFC record for the most punches absorbed without ever being TKOd or KOd. That’s absolutely wild considering Nelson’s relatively short time in the Octagon. Nelson has taken 487 punches to the head and now, it must be said, maybe it’s affected his decision making progress. Apparently Roy turned down Dana White and Joe Silva’s offer of a newer, more...

Dana White: Anthony Pettis Still in Line for UFC Lightweight and Featherweight Titles

Anthony Pettis (pictured) was guaranteed a UFC lightweight title fight after unleashing his infamous “Showtime Kick” on Benson Henderson to capture the WEC 155-pound crown in December 2010. Fast forward nearly three years and Pettis has still not competed for UFC gold. First, then-champ Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard fought to a draw and an immediate rematch was arranged. Pettis...

UFC 164: Henderson vs. Grant Tickets on Sale Friday, June 21st

The UFC formally announced today that lightweight champion “Smooth” Benson Henderson will defend his title against dangerous Canadian No. 1 contender TJ Grant in the main event of UFC 164 on August 31. “We’re celebrating the Harley Davidson 110th anniversary in Milwaukee with the lightweight title fight between champion Benson Henderson and TJ Grant, who’s won five straight...
