News of the bout was first reported by MMAjunkie.com. Quarry (12-3) is 4-1 in his five bouts, however, has not fought since picking up his second straight win by defeating Tim Credeur at UFC Fight Night 19 in September in a bout that earned both men "Fight of the Night" for their exciting middleweight war. His lone loss over that five-fight stretch came against Demian Maia at UFC 91 in November 2008. Quarry sports a 7-2 record in nine fights with the UFC, with other notable Octagon wins over Pete Sell (x2), Shonie Carter and Jason MacDonald; while suffering his only other UFC loss to Rich Franklin.
