A middleweight bout between Nick Ring (13-1) and Costa Philippou (11-2) was scrapped from the UFC 154 fight card. UFC officials announced Saturday that Ring was not cleared by medical staff due to an illness and would be unable to compete. This unfortunately left Philippou without an opponent and he was ultimately pulled from the card as well. The UFC has made it official that a lightweight scrap between Mark Bocek (11-4) and Rafael dos Anjos (17-6) would take its place on the UFC 154 PPV portion of the card. Subsequently a featherweight bout between Rodrigo Damm (10-5 ) and Antonio Carvalho (14-5) has been moved from the Facebook preliminary card up to the FX/Sportsnet prelims. Below is what the new card will look like.
