On this edition of No Holds Barred, host Eddie Goldman speaks with former mixed martial arts and muay Thai fighter Gina Carano, who is the star of the new spy film "Haywire". In this film, directed by Academy Award winner Steven Soderbergh, she plays Mallory Kane, a covert operative who is betrayed by her cohorts. We spoke with Gina Carano by phone Wednesday afternoon about her widely-acclaimed starring role, her first, in this movie. She discussed her training in weapons and fighting for this movie, in which she performed almost all of her own stunts. She commented on her character, which was not the stereotypical, one-dimensional role usually given to fighters, and her transition from fighting to acting.
