On Wednesday afternoon, Bellator MMA announced featherweight champ Pat Curran (Pictured) will put his 145-pound crown on the line against Daniel Straus on April 4th. Curran owns a 18-4 professional record, with one of his victories coming over Straus four years ago. Despite the KO finish, Curran knows both have evolved since their initial encounter. “This may end up being the most challenging fight I’ve faced up this point,” Curran said. “Daniel is going to make for a very tough challenge, but I know what I’m capable of. I feel like I’m always growing as a fighter and the sky is really the limit for me. I’ve got the belt and I’m not letting anyone take it away from me.” Straus will be riding a five-fight winning streak into the rematch. He earned his shot at the throne by taking Bellator’s Season 6 Featherweight Tournament. “Fighting for the Bellator featherweight title against Pat just signifies how my career has come full circle,” Straus stated. “It was my loss to Pat that motivated me to become a better fighter. Now I get to see how much better I’ve actually gotten.” Ovation Hall at Revel in Atlantic City, New Jersey hosts the gig. Spike TV will broadcast the night’s featured fights. Here is the card’s current roster: Tom DeBlass vs. Carlos Brooks Jessica Eye vs. Munah Holland Dante Rivera vs. Lyman Good Daniel Straus vs. Pat Curran (Bellator featherweight champion)
