Shane Carwin has blown out his knee and will unfortunately have to bow out of his main event bout with Roy Nelson at the TUF Live Finale.
The news came Wednesday afternoon via UFC President Dana White’s Twitter Account.
“WOW!! It never ends Carwin blew his knee out. Looking for a new opponent for Roy on the TUF Finale on FX.”
MMASucka.com caught up with Carwin’s manager Jason Genet of Ingrained Media and he told us that he had re-injured his knee.
He called me this morning to let me know that he had re-injured his knee and that he was not going to be able to make the Dec. 15th fight. I called Joe Silva and informed him pretty much immediately.
The injury bug has plagued the UFC this year and Silva has been forced to find late replacements on numerous occasions. Lucky enough, Genet informed him so quickly after the injury happened.
