It has been nearly one year since the last time we saw former UFC heavyweight contender Shane Carwin grace the octagon. The last time we saw him fight was at UFC 131, where he was bloodied up by current heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos. On Wednesday, Shane Carwin announced via his Shane-Carwin.com that he was cleared for contact and when he makes his return you will see a much different fighter. No one ever “wants” or “needs” back surgery but I did “need” the time to improve my skills. Being a good wrestler with heavy hands is only a fraction of skills needed to become a World Champion. I am certain when I come back you will see a more diverse and hungry fighter. Carwin (12-2) began his career winning an impressive 12 in a row.
