It seemed likely that undefeated bantamweight and Olympic silver medalist Sara McMann would cross paths with U.S. marine and highly explosive mixed martial artist Liz Carmouche (pictured) sooner rather than later. It turns out that instead of competing under the Invicta banner for that inaugural bantamweight championship fight, the two will do battle on November 3rd on Showtime for what could very well be a Strikeforce #1 contenders bout. That's right, whomever emerges from this one victorious may just win the "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey sweepstakes.

After posting five quick wins in 2010, Carmouche dropped two straight the following year. The first as a late fill in for Miesha Tate against then Strikeforce champion Marloes Coenen, the next against another former champ in Sarah Kaufman. Carmouche, warrior that she is, took what she learned in defeat against two crafty veterans in this game and used it to get back on track in 2012. She disposed of Ashleigh Curry and Kaitlin Young in vicious fashion and has now earned herself a date with one of the big timers in McMann.

On a card that boasts the likes of Frank Mir, Daniel Cormier, and Luke Rockhold - this could very well be the match up that steals the show. After all, it always seems to turn out that way when WMMA is featured on any recent Strikeforce card.
