Sometimes this sport makes you shake your head, more to the point, the actions of those involved force you to shake your head.  This is the first weekly installment of what will be a tongue in cheek look at the head shaking “Really?” moments.  If you make this article, don’t be angry, at me at least, you did it to yourself.  Ok, this report includes some of the April Fools hijinks and reactions to them, as well as other news items that had me both scratching and shaking my head this week.  Sit tight and enjoy the ride.  Really?  So Wanderlei Silva decided it would be funny to announce he was stepping in to face Gegard Mousasi after it was learned that Alexander Gustafsson cut himself and could be out of the fight with Gegard Mousasi.  Come on Wand, it’s funny at first, but when pressed, you’ve got to be willing to come off of your joke.  I think it was funny that so many people took the ball and ran with it, but hey, maybe that was your goal.  Either way, it’s one thing to say it on twitter, but it’s quite another to continue the prank when media people contact you directly.  That being said, Dana never confirmed it, so if you ran with the story and got burned, shame on you. Really?  Speaking of which, really Gustafsson?  Tripped and hit turnbuckle?  Not since Kevin Randleman tripped on a pipe and hit his head backstage at UFC 24 has a fighter done something so silly to cost himself a main event.  Now, their have been photos of him surfacing and the cut doesn’t look that bad.  Dana is very upset that he was pulled from the event, and he blames the Swedish commission for being too careful with Gustafsson.  Either way, he slipped and hit the turnbuckle and cost himself a main event in his home country….really?  Really?  So Ariel Helwani got his panties in a bunch following the April Fools joke Wanderlei Silva played.  He wasn’t just upset; he went as far as to chastise Silva.  Be very careful Mr. Helwani, while Wand might like you, he doesn’t like being talked down to, and you’re a little light in the ass to talk down to The Axe Murderer.  Here’s a taste of what Ariel had to say.   Relax Ariel, there's more to the story  Jeremy Botter also was a touch upset, but Tim Kenendy helped put it all in perspective.  Bottom line, if you have an issue, or concern, or problem, you’re best bet is to consult Tim Kennedy.  It’s best to get on his good side before the Zombie Apocalypse.  Here’s his take on Wand making up the fight.  Tim Kennedy dropping knowledge Now after all the venom spilled at Wanderlei, it seems he was approached about taking the fight, and then told to keep it close and play it as a joke.  Long story short, simply because you’re in a place to report news, doesn’t make you in a place to judge the news-makers.  Wand Silva is a treasure, show the proper respect dammit! Really? Let me sum this little dandy up the best I can.  Person A was born with a penis.  Person A later decides to remove penis, turn it into a va-jay-jay and take hormones to become a woman. Person A then decides to fight women in cages without disclosing prior penis to said women.  Florida commission determines no fraud was committed.  I don’t know even where to start with this.  In my best Austin Powers, “Fallon Fox is man baby.”  She should not be allowed to fight women, certainly without their knowledge of Fox’s past.  Shame on you Florida.  Really?  Really?
