It wasn't a pretty fight, but Quinton "Rampage" Jackson did what he had to do Saturday night at UFC 96, defeating Keith Jardine via unanimous decision in Columbus, OH, earning himself a date in May against Light Heavyweight champion Rashad Evans.

  • I din't get to see it. I was at work. Any thoughts?
  • yeah rampage fd him up
  • Rampage Jackson is a Fricking "BEAST"...
  • Fight didn't go even close to how I thought it would (Jackson by KO rd. 1) I liked Hamill winning with a vicious KO.
  • It was a great fight Rampage dropped Jardine twice, but the "Dean of Mean" didn't go out like a punk. He gave Rampage a three round war and even rocked him in the second round with an uppercut. If your heart wasn't pumping during the fight it definitely skipped a beat when Rampage and Evans exchanged words. That's going to be good!
  • I"m not sure why I keep hearing folks say that Jardine looked tired? He always looks like that it's that unusual style of his. The only thing I think he has to change is keeping his hands up.
  • If I was Rampage I would not be throwing a party just yet.
  • Yardbarker,

  • rampage is a mf beast.......real talk! he has to fight some one better than these cats.
  • It wasn't the greatest fight in the world, but it was good nonetheless. I think a lot of people were unsure who to root for as they're both fantastic. A couple of heart in your mouth moments. Like tikitmb said, I don't think Jardine was tired like some people were saying - that's just how he fights.

It was good, but just nothing to squeal about. But the Jackson v Evans will be good. I loved Rashad getting all 'upperty' and Rampage just saying "don't say that Rashad"... lol.
  • Oh by the way.... anyone else spot BJ Penn in the ring? I found myself viciously growling at the television - PUNK!
  • (smile)...
  • Probably won't be seeing Rampage-Evans in May. Dana wants Rampage to get adequate rest. He hasn't had much time in between his last two fights or so.
  • I love how everyone is all over the ultimate fighters, first it was Griffin, now it is Evans. Rashad has not faced the competition that Rampage has. Evans barley beat Bisping and drew with....ha Tito Ortiz. I will give it to him that his last two fights has been better competition and he ended both of them himself. Right now there is no clear No. 1 at 205 Evans, Jackson, and Machida are all in consideration and we will find out soon. Don't forget about Shogun,he hasn't looked good in the octagon but we all know what kind of talent he still is.
  • Rashad struggled with Bisping... but i guess you fail to remember the fence grabbing of Tito or how Tito looked like eh gave up completely the last 15 seconds of their match. I guess KTFO Chuck COMPLETELY doesn't count as anything as well. Machida should be up before Rampage personally..but he's not going to be considered as a draw because his fights minus his last 1 are snooze fest to the laymen MMA viewer. Shogun doesn't weigh in he's been 100% bluhhhhh since his exit from Pride. Quinton i think will have problems with Rashads' hand speed and movement.. i'm also assuming that Jardine deviated from their master plan.. because during the match Rashad mentioned that Keith was supposed to go back to workin his leg kicks. Quinton is a beast and has raw talent..but i'm sorry he has the most awful leg kick defense in the business.
  • Love the guy..cant wait to see him fight again
